Outskirts is a member of the National Bicycle Dealers Association. The following is an excerpt from their site.

Bicycles are vehicles that can travel at high speeds and withstand even demanding conditions. To do their best, they need to be constructed of high-quality materials, assembled by competent and trained bicycle mechanics, and properly adjusted to fit you right. By purchasing your new bike from a professional bicycle store instead of from a mass merchant or “discount” department store, you receive numerous important advantages that will ensure a lifetime of cycling enjoyment.
The benefits of a bike shop purchase. People come in all sizes and need the expert fit bike shops can provide. They ensure that your bike is the right size and adjusted properly just for you. Test rides and follow-up fitting fine-tuning is available, too. The result is easy, efficient and safe cycling and more fun!
Bicycles come in boxes and need to be assembled carefully and properly to be safe, work right and hold up. Outskirts Bike shop bikes are assembled in-store by experienced mechanics, and each is test ridden to ensure proper function and safety. They are then carefully fit to you at the time of purchase. Test rides, tune-ups and instructions assure safe and great rides.
Bicycles sold at Outskirts come with full warranties. And, most problems are resolved in-house. Plus, we stand behind our bikes and products with experienced mechanics and riding experts.
Fuji Bikes are our feature brand but we sell Schwinn, KHS, Marin, Mongoose, GT, SE Racing and others.
So when you are looking for your next bike, remember there is no place like the Outskirts.

I’ll also be working with them to offer you some great deals and discounts at Outskirts Bike Shop. Mr. Mark has set up a way for me to do this thing called a blog, your here now or  you can find it  our Web site  www.outskirtsonline.com. I will have some great deals on the blog, so look for them.

So, it is the time of year that cyclists live for, right?! I’m sure everyone is ready to ride!!

Outskirts Bike Shop is involved in several events this year. We hope that you can join us for all of them.

River 2 River Memorial Jersey

River 2 River Memorial Jersey

The first event is Tour de Cure on April 25, 2009. The Tour de Cure raises money for the Diabetes Foundation. I am one lucky pup that my family does not have to battle this serious and icky disease! However, there are many people who do, and we need to help them out. I know I can go without a treat
for a day to help out a fellow pup’s family and friends. My mommy and daddy have a team set up with the Tour de Cure. You can just click here to join the team.

Now, moving on … After Tour de Cure is the River to River Ride benefiting the Disabled Veterans begining on May 25, 2009. I am not really too happy that my mommy and daddy will be gone all week and leave me with my human brothers; still, it will be for a good cause. I will just need to be stocked with pup cookies before they leave! Mr. Jeff Aldrich has worked really hard on this, and Mr. Mark is going to get the information put on our website.  I am going to have my daddy attach information on the River to River ride, and
you can read all about the in that attachment thing. Also, my mommy is attaching a picture of the River to River Ride jersey. Outskirts Bike Shop is doing a presale on the jersey, so let us know if you would like to buy  one. A jersey will cost $80.00. These jerseys are really cool! I wish they came in my puppy size, and I’d talk Mommy and Daddy into getting me one! The proceeds will go to the Disabled American Veterans of Arkansas. Sign up for the River to River Ride and purchase jerseys.

Oh, I almost forgot!!  We are having a spring fling on March 21, 2009 begining at 10:00 am. We are going to have food, games and drawings.  We are also going to have a swap meet, so bring your used or new cycling gear or bikes that you would like to trade with other customers. This is going to be a lot of fun, and i will even be there.  I would really love to meet everyone.

Oops, here comes my daddy, and he’s frowning at me. He keeps saying something about being tired of puddles around me! Wow, Daddy is really coming fast this time. Gotta go … Come see me at the shop!

Bark to you later!

Marly

PS: The current special at Outskirts Bike Shop is on puppy cruiser baskets. This will run through March 20, 2009. Just mention the code Marly said so!

When it comes to camping, it’s important to appreciate the majesty of the outdoors, but also important to have fun.  There are a number of games and activities to enjoy while camping; here are a few sure to be fun all!

~Kayaking – with an inflatable kayak, a paddle, and proper safety equipment, kayaking is a great activity to experience the water, nature, and exercise!

~Croquet – though not a game driven by speed or excitement, this classic camping activity is a lot of fun for people of all ages.

~Fishing – while hunting requires a lot more time, equipment, and dedication, fishing is a relatively simple activity that can be enjoyed by amateurs and professionals.

~Ultimate Frisbee – much like a game of football played with a frisbee, this game is great for active young people.

When selecting a sleeping bag for your children, it’s important to ensure that it has the proper thermal rating.  Often companies will market sleeping bags featuring well known cartoon characters that are warm enough for the living room floor but not suited for the outdoors.  When camping with children, it’s important that they stay warm throughout the night, so be sure to check the thermal rating of a kids sleeping bag before you purchase it.  Recognize that sleeping bags made by well known manufacturers of outdoor equipment are the most reliable, though they might not be flashy.

Hypothermia and frostbite can be real threats in the outdoors, so it’s important to make sure your children are warm and protected from the elements.  If you’re not sure about the thermal rating of a particular kids sleeping bag, you can always purchase a goose down sleeping bag.

A family campout just isnt the same with out your kids. Having your buddy or buddies on your camp just helps you grow closer. In these days of video games and computers many parents need some binding time with your family. Kids like it too. They get a chance to hike, fish, and bike through the trails. You get a chance to show and teach. Children learn of nature, how to care for the environment and often times how to make decisions.
